Do I need to hire a "local" web site designer?

Many of our clients are worldwide and we communicate with them easily via skype, phone and email (from project start to finish). We live in a busy world and the information highway is more convenient.

Do I need a web developer or a web designer? How do I go about picking the right one for me?

Why should I hire a professional copywriter? Can I do it myself?

Your Web site copy is your "salesperson.” It is the only persuasive element of your site. Copy - if written properly - is what reaches your customers on a personal level and shows them how you are the solution to their problems. Words are our sole source of communication. They trigger our emotions and are the defining factor in most of our decisions (especially our buying decisions). How long does it take to have a web site designed?

The time frame is determined by the size of your web site, the complexity of your site design, and our current client design schedule. The simple rule is that the more time the designer devotes to your site, the more unique and spicy the design will be.

The timescale of a website design project is often dictated by the client. If you have a deadline in mind we will endeavour to meet it for you. The most common delay in the creation and completion of a new website is waiting for content (images/text) to be sent to us by the client. That's why we advise you to pass trough our "Website Quote Request Form" helping you to determine what exactly you need from the very beginning. After receiving the form we can estimate the time needed for your project. When everything is clear, send the necessary files and requirements to us and we're ready to start.

What if I do not like the design?

If you do not like the design which we have suggested for you, we will discuss further with a view to ascertaining what type of design you would like to see and then send another "suggested design" to you. We would not like to think that you are not happy with the final website design. Our aim is to design for you a website specific to your requirements which you are completely happy with.

Can I see the design while my website is under-going development?

Yes. Once the main page has been completed it will be uploaded to our server for your approval. After approval the rest of website will be developed.

What will you need from me to get the web design project started?

You may provide us with any ideas you may already have for your website including rough sketches, photographs, existing branding, and text. If you don't have anything to provide, we can offer professional stock imagery, logo, and copywriter services for you. Whatever your web design needs are, our web design team can help you every step of the way.

Do I need a database on my website?

This will depend upon the amount of information you wish to be displayed on your website. If you have many products/services, then it may be advantageous to have a database incorporated into your website design. If you need to sell online or update the site yourself by CMS/DMS (Content/Dynamic Management System) the answer is YES you do.

What is the difference between a “static” and a “dynamic” site?

A static site is one that is written in HTML only. Each page is a separate document and there is no database that it draws on. What this means functionally is that the only way to edit the site is to go into each page and edit the HTML. If this is your choice then you need a maintenance plan.

A dynamic site is written using more complex code and can do a lot more. For instance, I can make an area where you can log in and change various parts of the site, such as adding, editing, deleting information or products. This is because each page is constructed based on the information in a database, and the information in that database can be changed via another interface.

Dynamic sites can reduce ongoing maintenance costs. They usually cost more to develop, as they require more complex coding and a content management utility needs to be developed to help you manage your website information.

Another benefit of dynamic sites is that they allow you to change only specific content of the site and not the design, so you will not be able to accidentally break the visual style of the site. They have other benefits when sites start to get very large, as they make data management much more efficient and your site more expandable.

What is site maintenance?

Site maintenance is a fee paid monthly to keep your site updated with new content that you provide. Most good web sites have new content updated regularly. Fresh content is what will keep your visitors coming back. Search engines like websites with growing and updated content.

This is an optional service that we provide for our customers. If you want to maintain your website yourself you can do so.

How do I update my website?

If you have a small website consisting of just a few pages and will only wish to make changes very infrequently, then usually it is more cost effective simply to ask AddVentuRe.design to carry out these changes for you.

We can provide an on line content management system - CMS where you can either update individual products/pages/services/images/text or particular sections of your website like company news, galleries.

While choosing a CMS (Content Management System) you may want to consider your needs before having any web design company start your new web project. You need to decide which elements/sections/pages ... will be controlled by CMS and which ones will stay static. For example:

- I only want to change a few sections of my website (Vacancy, Calendar of Events, News, Products, etc.) and have a webmaster maintain the rest.

Do you use Flash animation in your website design?

Yes we do use flash as and when required. It is important to note that there are times when flash animations can be an asset but it would be unwise to use "flash" to create an entire website or even entire pages of your website as search engines are not able to read the content of flash and therefore any words used in animations will not be indexed by the search engines.

Generally it is best to use flash for smaller banners, advertisements or demonstrations and incorporate the flash animation into a web page which also includes some written text in html. This way the search engines will be able to index your information. Most of our "flash website" clients order a parallel HTML version for communication with the search engines to make the information on the website searchable.

Will I receive instant web traffic once my new site is launched?

No. While we do a basic submission to attempt an initial indexing by major search engines such as Google, Yahoo ... It is not designed to boost traffic to your site. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Web Page Optimization (WPO) is needed to increase keyword targeted traffic to your website.

Can you guarantee my site will appear on the first page in a search engine?

Nobody can honestly claim to do so because of the ever-changing algorithms and formulas search engines utilize. There are hundreds of different search engines and indexes all of which have their own method of determining what ranking they will give you based on a keyword search.

Certain optimization techniques work in one search engine but are given less weight or even penalized by another. The overall strategy we employ is to try and find a happy medium and make sure your keywords are present where they need to be. Other factors such site popularity (determined by how many other popular sites are linking to you), keyword placement in your page titles, page text, alternate text for images and meta tags (special tags read by some search engines which contain keywords specific to your industry and the site content) will determine your site's relevance vs. the keywords the potential visitor has typed in.

Why can't I find my web site in the search engines?

Will my website design be" Search Engine" friendly?

Will everyone see my web site the same?

Your website visitors will see some things differently depending on their browser, screen resolution and their individual computer settings and toolbars. We design sites with that in mind and preview them in most used browsers and resolution settings before publishing. Obviously as technology changes then eventually all websites may need reevaluation.

Can I see how many people have visited my website?

We provide web tracking services which record where you visitors are coming from and which pages they looked at, which search engines are being used, which phrases are being typed into which search engines and many more interesting web tracking facts which you should find useful for future marketing campaigns.

When can I update my website content?

If the website we have designed for you includes a Content Management System then you can access your administration panel from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection and make updates instantly as frequently as you wish. If your website is a smaller website and was designed without using this type of system and you don't have any html skills, then we can update the website for you. Our maintenance charges are very reasonable.

Do you have a pricelist for web site design?

Since no two web sites are exactly the same, a generalized pricelist doesn't really apply. Unlike some other companies we don't just use a series of templates. Everything we create meets the specific needs of what the site has to accomplish for you.

Typically we will quote a package price once we receive from you all website requirements via our "Website Quote Request Form" which gives us most of the key information required to provide an estimate.

How much will my website cost?

There are quite a few factors that are going to affect the ultimate cost of your web site. These factors include how many pages you are going to have, if you will sell products on your website, the graphic work involved, and how interactive your future web site will be.

The pricing for custom web design services varies on the following factors:

- How large or small will your site be?

- Who will be providing the text for the site? Will you need copywriter services to create your websites content? Is the existing text you have in Electronic format (ex. Microsoft Word / Excel / Copy & Paste).

- Will any database programming need to be created or imported to your new website?

- What technologies will be used?

- Are photographer services needed for your websites images? Or do you already have pictures for the new web design project?

- Is their any videos footage, stock video, video conversion needed for your web project?

- etc.

What is your payment policy and what type of payments do you accept?

We receive 50% of client's estimated total as a deposit prior to beginning work. The final payment is due immediately upon completion of the project or sooner if web project is delayed by client. Or more in details, after completion we upload the website and CMS on our server and after receiving the final payment we transfer the site to client's host , and give full access.

The way of payment depends on the country and the budget of the project. The project will begin once we have received a signed contract and down payment.

How much do you charge for updates?

We only do updates to websites that we design. Our minimum charge is $80 per hour but having said that, if only a small change is required, we usually don't make a charge. The crharge mentioned is applied to static content without maintenance plan. It doesn't include structural changes but only content updates.

In order to avoid misunderstanding and time killing we want you to spend some time on filling in our "website quote request form". This is the first step to your order. It's based on our experience and helps us to evaluate your needs, the cost and time for your project.
